Taper Pin Reamers have a taper of 1/4 inch to the foot and are designed to ream holes into which standard taper pins will fits. The straight-fluted and left hand slow spiral reamers are used for hand reaming, while the high helix (fast spiral) type is designed for machine used. Best results are usually obtained if the hole to be reamed is drilled to a size a few thousandths smaller than the small diameter of the finish reamed hole.
